An unintended expat blogger behind Marble Shore Park

Hello, I am Emma
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expat based in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn’t in the cards at first. For many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The opening months were intense — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt more complicated than they should have.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet, over time routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt secure.
Why I Built Marble Shore Park
Most online guidance fell into either corporate relocation tips or shallow tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Represents (And What It Isn't)
This site offers:
- Hands-on insight gained from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism board resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not just a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I'll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Emma
